Assistant Accountant
to join its Finance team in
Southport
on a permanent, full-time basis.
About the role:
This role puts you at the centre of financial operations for one of Australia's largest automotive dealer groups, giving you hands‐on exposure to real business numbers at scale.
Your day-to-day will include:
Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and on time, building your confidence across the full accounting cycle
Deal Processing functions; cost accounting
Assisting with month‐end reconciliations and reporting, so you develop a genuine understanding of how a large business closes its books
Supporting the preparation of financial statements and management reports that inform decisions across the group
Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating variances, sharpening your analytical skills with every review
Collaborating with dealership teams across multiple locations, giving you exposure to a diverse and interesting business model
Assisting with audit preparation and compliance tasks, building knowledge that will serve your career long term
About you:
You are someone who takes pride in getting the details right and is ready to grow within a supportive team environment.
More about you:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or solid progress toward one
Practical experience in a similar accounting or finance support role
Comfortable working with accounting software and confident in Excel for reconciliations and reporting




A methodical approach to problem‐solving means errors rarely get past you
Clear communicator who can work effectively with both finance colleagues and non-finance stakeholders
Familiarity with automotive or multi‐site dealership accounting is an advantage, though not essential
