Financial Controller Retail
to join our Retail leadership team.
n
Reporting to the Group Manager Commercial Services Retail, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting across the Retail Partnership, while providing critical financial insights that support business performance, strategic decision-making and future growth. This role combines technical accounting expertise, commercial analysis, process improvement and people leadership.
n

What You'll Be Doing
n
As Financial Controller Retail, you will:
n
n
Lead the integrity and accuracy of Retail financial reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and accounting policies.
n
Manage month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
n
Deliver insightful analysis of revenue, margins and costs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
n
Prepare and manage monthly Business Performance Reporting.
n
Oversee year-end audit processes and support the preparation of statutory financial reporting.
n
Provide technical accounting advice on strategic initiatives,



products and business decisions.
n
Partner with stakeholders across Retail Finance, Planning & Analysis, Billing, Treasury and broader business teams.
n
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes and controls.
n
Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management activities.
n
Lead, mentor and develop members of the Retail Finance team.
n

About You
n
You are an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical accounting capability with commercial acumen and a proactive approach to problem solving.
n
To be successful, you'll bring:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline.
n
CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
n
Significant experience in a senior financial or management accounting role.
n
Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and technical accounting principles.
n
Proven experience improving financial processes while maintaining strong governance and controls.
n
Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills.
n
Strong Excel capability and experience with Oracle Financial Suite or similar ERP systems.
n




Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
n
The ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across a complex business environment.
n
