ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a Local Sydney Council that is looking for a temporary 6-Month contract Open Space & Recreational Planner that can hit the ground running for a large-scale project .

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be performing both front-end and back-end planning, designing and implementation processes, related to both open space and recreation.
Reporting into the Open Space & Recreation Planning Team Leader, you will also be working with internal teams and external stakeholders, including key community members and partners to manage and preserve community land in a lawful and sustainable manner.
DUTIES
Lead the development, review and implementation of Plans of Management in line with legislative requirements




Set about research to analyse and strategically plan for open space & recreation projects
Consult and engage in community activities
Report progress & projections in detail to Manager Infrastructure & Planning
Prepare site specific plans & grant applications as required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
3+ years of Urban Planning experience
Previous Council experience is preferred but not essential
Proven track record of managing projects in a timely and efficient manner
Strong knowledge of Local Government Act **** & Crown Lands Management Act ****
Strong research, written & verbal communication, & problem-solving skills
CULTURE

REMUNERATIONS & BENEFITS
$70 - $80 p/h + super
6 Month Contract
with potential for permanent full time contract
35 hour working weeks
