Staff Specialist in General Medicine
to join a major regional referral hospital in New South Wales.
This is an excellent opportunity for a General Physician seeking
broad clinical practice, professional autonomy and genuine involvement in the ongoing development of regional medical services

You will join an established multidisciplinary team providing contemporary General Medicine to a diverse regional population, with opportunities to contribute to clinical leadership, education, governance and service improvement.
The Opportunity
As a Staff Specialist in General Medicine, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based medical care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities Include
Providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient General Medicine services
Managing a broad range of acute and complex medical presentations
Providing specialist consultation and clinical advice
Providing clinical leadership within the medical team
Supervising junior medical officers and other healthcare professionals
Contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education
Participating in clinical governance and quality improvement
Contributing to risk-management and patient-safety initiatives
Supporting the development of contemporary, patient‐centred services
Participating in the General Medicine on-call roster

About You
To be considered, applicants should have:
FRACP in General and Acute Care Medicine, or an equivalent specialist qualification
Specialist registration, or eligibility for specialist registration, with AHPRA
Demonstrated experience providing high-quality General Medicine services
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Clinical leadership capability
Commitment to teaching and professional education
Commitment to clinical governance and continuous quality improvement

Internationally trained specialists who have completed, or is progressing through, the relevant
specialist assessment pathway
