The University of Newcastle is seeking reliable and confident individuals to join our casual pool of Online Examination Invigilators.
This is a flexible opportunity to work from home and play an key role in supporting students through their online examinations. You'll monitor online exam sessions, provide guidance to students and help ensure examinations are conducted fairly, securely and in line with University policies and procedures.
No previous invigilation experience is required – full training will be provided.
The opportunity
As an Online Examination Invigilator, you will:
Monitor online examinations for groups of approximately 18 students using Zoom and University systems
Support students throughout their examination and respond to procedural questions
Follow established examination procedures and protocols
Identify and elevate any technical issues or examination irregularities
Maintain a high level of attention to detail throughout each examination
Work collaboratively with the examinations team and other invigilators.

About you
We're looking for people who are:
Confident and comfortable using technology, including Zoom and online systems
Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Detail-oriented and observant
Comfortable following established policies, procedures and instructions
Professional and calm when supporting students in a time-sensitive environment
Clear and confident communicators
Committed to providing a positive and equitable experience for students.
Previous experience in examinations, education, administration, customer service or online environments would be well regarded, but is not essential.
A standard online examination runs for just over two hours, with shifts generally scheduled for approximately three hours. The next examination period will be held over two weeks in November ****.
