Common Good Partners is working with an established Australian commercial construction business to appoint a Senior Project Engineer for a major, high-profile project in Sydney's CBD.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced project team and take ownership of key packages across a large-scale, technically complex current builds. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider delivery team to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing major construction packages from procurement through to completion
Coordinating subcontractors, consultants and internal project stakeholders
Reviewing design documentation and resolving technical issues
Managing RFIs, shop drawings, methodologies and approvals
Monitoring programme, quality, cost and delivery milestones
Supporting procurement, contract administration and commercial processes
Ensuring works comply with project specifications, safety requirements and relevant standards
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers where required
Building strong relationships with the client, consultants and subcontractors
To be considered for this position, you must have:




Previous experience with a recognised Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder
Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale construction new build projects - not infrastructure and civils
Experience working as a Senior Project Engineer, or as an accomplished Project Engineer ready to step up
Strong technical construction knowledge and major package ownership on new builds like government, commercial, residential or similar
The ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
A qualification in construction management, engineering or a related discipline
