Who we are
The NSW Early Learning Commission (Commission), established as the independent regulator for early childhood education and care (ECEC) in Current South Wales on 1 December ****, is responsible for regulating more than 6,000 ECEC services across the state.
Our role is to ensure services meet high standards of safety, quality, and compliance through ongoing assessment, monitoring and enforcement.
The Commission places children at the centre of all decision-making, working to ensure they are safe, respected, and supported to thrive in high-quality early learning environments that promote their development, wellbeing, and lifelong learning.
It also drives continuous improvement across the sector through evidence-informed regulation and reform to strengthen community confidence in ECEC services.

Salary ranges from $102,936 to $113,579 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading
About the Team
The Project Officer role sits within the Risk Team, which leads and tracks the development and implementation of strategic projects and operational initiatives to support effective risk based and best practice regulation of NSW early childhood education and care services with a strong emphasis on risk management and performance optimisation.
About the role
As a Project Officer, you play a hands‐on role working across a variety of projects and initiatives, providing the coordination, research,



analysis and administrative support needed to ensure priorities are progressing and quality outcomes are delivered.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing secretariat and governance support, including coordinating meetings, preparing papers, and minutes
Undertaking research and data analysis to identify operational issues, emerging trends and sector risk, and prepare high-quality reports and correspondence
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities and respond to enquiries
Coordinating project activities and deliverables, monitoring progress and supporting implementation to ensure timely effective delivery
Applicants must declare any investigations they have been subject to as an ECEC employee or Responsible Person, and any personal or professional conflicts of interest with current or former NSW Early Learning Commission employees, approved providers or ECEC services.
About you
You are a highly organised and proactive professional, who can confidently balance competing demands, has a keen eye for detail and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
You bring:
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A resourceful, solution-focused mindset and willingness to take initiative
Confidence using Microsoft Office suites and working with data, reports and documentation
Effective organisation and time management skills, with the ability to keep priorities on track and meet deadlines




The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team culture.
Essential requirements of the role
Current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance for paid employment.
Demonstrated understanding of and committed to the value of early childhood education and care.
