ICAC investigates reports of alleged corruption within public administration and actively prevents corruption by undertaking evaluations of the practices, policies and procedures of public agencies.
ICAC also delivers education programs which seek to guide the conduct of public officers in the South Australian public sector.

The Role Reporting to the Manager Legal and Prevention, the Legal Officer is responsible for providing high-quality legal advice to support the statutory functions of ICAC.




The Legal Officer assists ICAC to identify and respond to strategic issues associated with the discharge of its statutory functions.
The incumbent is expected to exercise their own judgement in carrying out their legal duties, subject to supervision from time to time.
Reporting to the Manager Legal and Prevention, the Senior Legal Officer is responsible for the provision of timely high-quality legal advice to support the statutory functions of ICAC.
The Senior Legal Officer assists ICAC to identify and respond to strategic legal issues associated with the discharge of its statutory functions and provides guidance to Legal Officers.
Success in the role is underpinned by the ability to work in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements To be successful in the role you must possess: Bachelor of Laws or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
Demonstrated ability to provide legal advice regarding the discharge of statutory powers.
Ability to provide legal advice in relation to the enforcement of the criminal law.
Capacity to identify trends and issues of relevance to ICAC in the discharge of its statutory functions, and to make recommendations accordingly.
Demonstrated ability to produce high quality written legal advice on matters of moderate complexity in a clear, timely and accurate manner.
Demonstrated ability to distil legal concepts into appropriately worded policies and processes.




Willingness to undertake professional advancement through participation in continuing legal education.

Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory security and integrity assessment.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).
You must be an Australian citizen to be eligible for an Australian Government security clearance.
ICAC can elect to waive the citizenship requirement, subject to the applicant having appropriate working rights in Australia (such as permanent residency).
