The Opportunity

An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Deputy Chief Financial Officer to join a leading Australian financial institution and work directly alongside the CFO.

This is far more than a traditional senior Finance position. As the CFO's 2IC, you will play a central role in shaping the future Finance function, influencing executive decision-making and leading the evolution of the organisation's Finance service model.

You will have genuine scope to make an impact across strategic planning, Finance partnering, commercial decision-making, governance and Finance transformation.

What You'll Be Doing

- Act as 2IC to the CFO, providing strategic financial leadership across the organisation.
- Lead the Financial Planning & Partnering function, including budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Partner with senior executives, providing commercial insight and challenging assumptions to support better decision-making.
- Shape and implement a refreshed Finance service model.
- Lead, develop and inspire high-performing Finance teams.
- Strengthen financial management, governance, controls and risk management.
- Drive continuous improvement across Finance systems, processes and reporting.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, commercially relevant recommendations.
- Contribute to broader Finance transformation and strategic initiatives.

What We're Looking For





We are looking for a senior Finance leader who can operate confidently at executive level and combine technical financial expertise with commercial and strategic thinking.

You will bring:

- Robust experience across FP&A;, budgeting and forecasting.
- Proven Finance business partnering and commercial acumen.
- Strong financial management, governance and risk experience.
- Exceptional executive stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership of high-performing Finance teams.
- A track record of continuous improvement and transformation.
- The curiosity to challenge the status quo and evolve Finance, rather than simply deliver what has been asked.

Experience within a complex banking, financial services or highly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
