Are you an experienced policy professional with strong briefing and correspondence expertise? A South Australian Government agency is seeking a skilled Policy Officer to provide short-term support during a busy period, assisting with the preparation of Ministerial responses, briefings and high-level written advice.

This is an excellent chance to apply your policy, research and stakeholder engagement skills in a fast-paced environment where quality, accuracy and attention to detail are critical. Working alongside subject-matter experts, you will analyse complex issues, prepare concise and well-researched correspondence, and contribute to the delivery of timely advice for senior decision-makers.

Your new role
In this role, you will prepare high-quality Ministerial responses, briefings, reports and correspondence on a range of policy and operational matters. You will undertake research and analysis, consult with internal and external stakeholders, develop policy proposals and recommendations, and contribute to discussion papers and briefing materials. You will also provide strategic advice on emerging issues, ensuring responses are accurate, balanced and delivered within tight timeframes.

What you'll need to succeed

- Demonstrated experience preparing Ministerial responses, briefings and reports Strong research, analysis and policy development capabilities

- Ability to consult with stakeholders and provide high-quality advice

- Experience reviewing complex information and preparing discussion papers





- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail

- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work to deadlines

- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

- The successful candidate will need to be willing for Hays to run a national police clearance prior to commencing.
