Contract Length: 12 months with extension options up to 24 months

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior SAP Technical Engineering Expert on behalf of Services Australia. This EL1 equivalent role sits at the centre of a large scale SAP S/4HANA transition program supporting the agency's SAP platform landscape through migration, modernisation and day to day operational excellence.

You will bring deep SAP Basis expertise to a complex enterprise workplace, working alongside architects, platform engineers and project teams while mentoring internal APS staff to build lasting SAP capability.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide senior SAP Basis administration and engineering support across the agency's SAP landscape
- Manage installations, upgrades, patching, transports and system refreshes
- Monitor and optimise system performance, availability and reliability
- Design and support high availability, backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Contribute to SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA migration planning, technical conversion and cutover activities




- Produce technical documentation and lead knowledge transfer to APS staff

What You'll Need

- Demonstrated senior level experience in SAP Basis administration and engineering
- Current SAP certification in Basis Administration, SAP HANA, S/4HANA or an equivalent discipline
- Proven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementation, upgrade or migration programs
- Experience with database migration and system conversion to SAP HANA
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and business audiences
- A track record of mentoring and documentation in complex ICT environments
- Prior Australian Government experience is highly regarded
- Willingness and eligibility to hold an NV1 clearance for the contract duration
