Project Engineer

GDR Civil Construction | Northam, WA

GDR Civil Construction is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Engineer to join our team.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years onsite Project Engineering experience who is confident working in a civil construction environment and understands what it takes to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable being on-site, communicating directly with supervisors, subcontractors and project teams, and taking ownership of their responsibilities.

About the Role

As Project Engineer, you will be involved in the planning, coordination and delivery of civil construction works, including:

- Drainage works

- Roadworks and pavement construction

- Earthmoving and bulk earthworks

- Quality control and quality assurance

- Site inspections and compliance

- Project documentation and reporting

- Monitoring project progress and identifying issues

- Coordinating with supervisors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders

- Supporting the successful delivery of projects within programme, budget and quality requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Project Engineer in a site-based civil construction role

- Previous civil construction experience in Australia, the UK or Ireland

- Experience with drainage, roadworks and earthmoving

- Strong understanding of quality control and quality assurance

- The ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications





- Strong organisational and time-management skills

- The ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Clear, confident and professional English communication

- A direct and practical communication style

- The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of a project

- A strong work ethic and commitment to safety

You will need to be comfortable speaking up, asking questions, addressing issues when they arise and communicating clearly with the project team.

This role requires someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do. You should be able to identify problems, communicate them effectively and work with the team to find solutions.
