Kareena Private Hospital is a energetic acute care 142 bed facility. Kareena caters for a full range of specialties including cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, geriatric medicine, rehabilitation, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, ophthalmology, paediatrics, respiratory medicine and vascular surgery. Radiology and pathology services are also available on site.

Job Description

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Dietary Aide to work at Kareena Private Hospital on a casual basis. The role includes the identification and communication of special dietary needs to the Dietician and performing nutritional support tasks for patients within the Hospital as required by the Dietician.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Checking computerised ward bed lists
- Preparation and delivery of suitable menus and meals to patients
- Assisting patients with choice
- Printing chef's list
- Awareness of patients with special dietary needs
- Check therapeutic meals stock
- Working with the Chefmax system
- Coordinating with Dieticians, Nursing and Kitchen staff

About You

To succeed in this role,



you will be a qualified Diet Aide with a passion for culinary preparation and service. Ideally, you will bring experience within a clinical setting or in preparing food for medical patients. Strong organisational skills and the capacity to handle high volume catering workflows will be key to this role.

Essential Criteria:

- Certificate qualifications in Dietary Practices, Dietary Aide or equivalent
- Sound knowledge of nutrition
- Good standard of written and verbal communications skills
- Effective organisational skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Commitment to high quality patient care and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Sound computer skills in Microsoft products

Desirable Criteria:

- Minimum of 12 months relevant experience in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene

Remuneration

On offer is a base hourly rate of $28.40 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW General Services Officer grade 4 year 1)

Additional Information
