Experienced Powder Coater

$40–$45/hr + Super | Permanent Full time | Blacktown

Advanced Powder Coating & Sand Blasting is looking for an experienced powder coater who can consistently produce high-quality finishes in a busy custom and industrial workshop.

This position is for an experienced applicator—not a trainee or general factory worker.

You must already have hands-on powder coating experience and be confident setting up equipment, applying powder evenly, checking film build, coating difficult shapes and identifying finish defects before jobs leave the workshop.

About the role

You will be responsible for producing high-quality powder coated finishes across automotive, commercial, architectural and industrial projects.

Our work includes:

- Race car chassis

- Motorcycle frames and components

- Wheels and brake components

- 4WD canopies and ute trays

- Structural steel

- Architectural aluminium

- Custom fabricated components

This is not repetitive conveyor-line coating. Every week brings different jobs, colours, shapes and coating requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and checking components before coating

- Setting up and adjusting powder coating equipment

- Applying consistent coverage and correct film thickness

- Coating complex shapes,



corners and recessed areas

- Monitoring finish quality throughout the process

- Identifying contamination, coverage and curing problems

- Working efficiently without compromising quality

- Maintaining a clean and organised coating area

About you

To be considered, you must:

- Have at least two years of hands-on powder coating experience

- Be capable of working independently

- Produce consistently high-quality finishes

- Understand gun setup, film build and curing requirements

- Have strong attention to detail

- Work efficiently in a busy workshop

- Be reliable, punctual and safety-conscious

- Be physically capable of performing workshop duties

- Have unrestricted Australian working rights

- Currently live within a reasonable travelling distance of Blacktown

A forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.

Experience with 2-pack spray painting is highly regarded but not essential.

Practical skills assessment

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to complete a paid practical skills assessment in our Blacktown workshop. This allows you to see our workplace and allows us to assess your powder coating experience properly.
