Lead From the Front in a Growing Australian Manufacturer

BFX Furniture is one of Australia's leading manufacturers and suppliers of educational, government and commercial furniture. As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Team Leader to support our Upholstery Factory Manager and help drive performance, quality and productivity across our Upholstery operation in Yandina.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, leading by example and developing high-performing teams while ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are achieved.

About the Role

Reporting to the Upholstery Factory Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations across the Upholstery, Sewing/Cutting and Framing/Glue Bay areas, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output. This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday. This role is generally worked between 6:00am and 2:06pm, Monday to Friday. As a salaried position, flexibility may be required and reasonable additional hours may be worked from time to time based on operational needs.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating daily production activities across the Upholstery facility
- Assisting with production planning and scheduling
- Leading, coaching and supporting team members
- Monitoring productivity, quality and workplace safety standards
- Managing inventory and material availability
- Coordinating maintenance activities and equipment upkeep




- Supporting continuous improvement and process efficiencies
- Acting as a backup to the Factory Manager when required
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong people leadership and communication skills
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the factory floor
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving abilities
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement

Highly Regarded

- Upholstery experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Manufacturing or furniture industry experience
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Technical, manufacturing or business-related qualifications
