An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced Legal Counsel to join a sophisticated, high-performing financial markets organisation in Sydney on an 8-month parental leave contract.

This is a broad, commercially focused role within a fast-paced, technology-led business operating across Asia-Pacific. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing pragmatic legal advice on commercial arrangements, technology and procurement, and corporate and regulatory matters.

The role will suit a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business, is comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity, and can build trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.

The Opportunity

You will provide practical, risk-focused legal advice across a varied portfolio, including:

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, including software, technology, IT procurement, outsourcing, supply and market-related contracts.
- Supporting corporate and commercial projects involving data,



privacy, intellectual property and artificial intelligence.
- Advising on financial services, regulatory and governance matters.
- Advising management on legal risk, governance and reporting.

About You

You will be a commercially astute lawyer with:

- 6-10 years' post-admission experience gained in leading private practice and/or in-house, with in-house experience preferred.
- Solid experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- A self-starting, collaborative approach and confidence working directly with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent judgement, communication skills and the ability to prioritise across a broad workload.
