The Birth Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) is seeking an experienced Midwife to join their energetic team. We deal with complex high-risk pregnancies with fantastic opportunities for professional development.

The Maternity Service at Royal North Shore Hospital is committed to professional development of staff, innovation and midwifery/nursing excellence at all levels. To provide quality woman centred, effective, evidence-based midwifery care in accordance with the ANMC National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2006) and to supervise the work of others as required.

n

The midwife will consult and liaise with obstetric, medical and other appropriate staff as per the ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and referral (PD2010_022) guidelines when deviations from the norm are identified.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
n
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a high level of written and verbal skills with both patients and colleagues.
n
- Recent experience and competency to practise as a midwife in antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding.
n
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
n
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
n
- Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence.
