About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Governance Initiatives to join our Risk Transformation Program on a 8-month contract. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in delivering important governance and board initiatives that strengthen how Cbus operates and meets regulatory expectations.

Working within the Group Risk function, you will lead and support the delivery of critical governance initiatives, partnering with senior stakeholders across Governance, Risk, Legal, the Executive team and Board. You'll help design, implement and embed governance improvements that enhance board oversight, accountability and decision‑making capabilities.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead the review and enhancement of Board and Committee Charters and associated accountability frameworks.
- Update governance policies, procedures and supporting documentation to align with the Cbus policy framework.
- Develop guidance, training and capability‑building initiatives to improve Board and Committee reporting.
- Support Board capability planning and training priorities.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and key stakeholders to design and implement governance improvements.




- Facilitate the successful transition of initiatives into business‑as‑usual operations.
- Support internal and external assurance activities and maintain a strong focus on delivery quality and outcomes.

About You

You are a governance, risk, legal or compliance skilled who enjoys working in complex environments and driving meaningful organisational change.

You’ll bring:

- Experience within financial services, ideally across governance, risk, compliance, legal or regulatory functions.
- Strong experience drafting and reviewing governance documentation including charters, policies, procedures and guidance materials.
- Exposure to regulatory remediation, transformation or uplift programs.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at senior leadership and executive levels.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce high‑quality, concise and audience‑appropriate material.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Commerce or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
