Our client, a global leader in advanced sheet metal processing and automation solutions, is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead their Australian service operations. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and customer support, our client delivers state-of-the-art machinery, software, and automation systems across multiple industries. This leadership position is ideal for someone with a strong background in industrial machinery service management who is ready to take ownership of a high-performing technical team and drive service excellence nationally.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a service team of approximately 20, including 6 direct reports (regional service managers, hotline support, and service administration/logistics staff)
- Oversee national service operations, including installation, breakdowns, maintenance, and preventive maintenance planning
- Manage service budgets, reporting, and performance targets
- Handle escalated technical and customer issues to ensure timely resolution and high client satisfaction
- Coordinate training, resource planning, and performance reviews for service engineers
- Liaise with international headquarters on budgeting, technical training,



and service strategy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, attending major breakdowns and installations where needed
- Identify opportunities for service process improvements and commercial growth
- Travel nationally as required to support regional teams and customers

About You

- Proven experience as a Service Manager within an industrial or capital machinery setting
- Solid mechanical, electrical, or automation background
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing technical field teams
- Customer-focused mindset with strong commercial and budgeting acumen
- Confident communicator, capable of working across multiple levels (customers, staff, and global stakeholders)
- Previous experience working with European or Asian manufacturers highly regarded
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally
