Are you ready to lead transformative digital projects that shape the future of Brisbane? The Information Services branch (ISB) at Brisbane City Council is seeking a visionary and experiencedPrincipal Project Managerto drive delivery excellence across our strategic ICT portfolio.

Our Branch
Information Services branch (ISB) supports and enables nearly all of Council’s day-to-day activities and services through efficient, versatile and innovative ICT solutions. We lead the ICT strategy that supports the business objectives of Council as a whole, as well as information management and ICT service delivery in Council.
The Role
As a Principal Project Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering high-impact digital initiatives that support Council’s vision for a connected,
sustainable, and innovative Brisbane. Every project you lead will contribute to a more connected, efficient, and vibrant city. Think: better services, smarter systems, and real outcomes for real people.
What you’ll do:
- lead complex, high-value ICT projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with Council’s strategic objectives
- champion governance and assurance processes, providing expert guidance to project teams and stakeholders
- collaborate across ISB and Council to embed best practices in project delivery, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
- drive innovation and continuous improvement in how we deliver digital experiences that truly benefit everyone – our people, our customers and Brisbane
To be successful you will have:
- experience delivering complex projects within agreed timelines, budgets and quality expectations
- strong planning and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work across diverse teams
- sound knowledge of project management frameworks, tools and delivery practices.
- well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear recommendations and insights
- excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels
- experience leading cross-functional teams and managing sensitive or high-profile initiatives
- demonstrated success delivering ICT or technology-focused projects and programs.
- a collaborative approach and commitment to contributing to a high-performing team culture.
