Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic & Apprentice n

Position: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Apprentice

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- n

Diagnose faults in engines and mechanical systems

n
- n

Repair and maintain heavy vehicles and mechanical components

n
- n

Remove and dismantle engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components

n
- n

Inspect components to identify faults, damage and wear

n
- n

Repair or replace faulty and worn parts

n
- n

Reassemble mechanical components and systems

n
- n

Test and adjust mechanical parts after repairs or replacement

n
- n

Use computerised diagnostic equipment to diagnose and test vehicle systems

n
- n

Inspect vehicles and complete repairs required to achieve roadworthiness

n
- n

Repair and maintain vehicle suspension and chassis systems

n
- n

Carry out general servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs

n
- n

Follow workplace health and safety procedures

n
- n

Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment

n
- n

Complete all mechanical work to a high professional standard

n

n

Apprentice Requirements

n

n
- n

No previous experience required

n
- n

Genuine interest in heavy vehicles and mechanical work

n
- n





Willingness to learn and develop current skills

Reliable and punctual

n

Good work ethic and positive attitude

Ability to work as part of a team

Commitment to completing a 4-year apprenticeship

Training: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

Qualified Mechanic Requirements

Completed a 4-year apprenticeship

n
- n

Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

- n

Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles

n
- n

Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills

n
- n

Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults

n
- n

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

n
- n
