The role includes participation in clinical governance, quality improvement, research and continuing medical education activities.

Key responsibilities

- You will provide care across outpatient, inpatient, operating theatre and after-hours on-call settings and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver protected, effective and person-centred care.
- As a Consultant Ophthalmologist (Vitreoretinal Surgery), you will provide high-quality specialist ophthalmology services with a subspecialty focus on vitreoretinal surgery and retinal disorders, while contributing to the delivery of comprehensive general ophthalmology services across the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.
- You will be actively involved in teaching and supervising ophthalmology trainees, medical students and junior medical officers.

What you need

- Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia as an Ophthalmologist.
- Demonstrated expertise in vitreoretinal surgery and the management of complex retinal disease.
- Experience in teaching, supervision and mentoring of trainee medical staff.
