Shape the commercial capability of a growing national services business

Trident Services Australia is seeking an experienced GM – Commercial & Contracts to join our senior leadership team and lead our commercial and contractual capability across the organisation.

Employing more than 2,500 people across Australia, Trident delivers large-scale security and cleaning services across complex operational environments. As our business continues to grow, we are strengthening the way we manage contracts, commercial risk, tenders and major negotiations to support sustainable growth and strong client outcomes.

Reporting to the EGM – Operations and working closely with our CEO, Executive Leadership Team and operational leaders, you will play a leading role in major commercial decisions across the business.

We are looking for someone who can understand the contract, understand the numbers, understand the operational reality – and bring those together to achieve the right commercial outcome.

The Opportunity

You will have broad ownership of Trident's commercial and contract management capability, supporting the business across the full lifecycle of major client and supplier arrangements.

- Leading the review, negotiation and management of major client, supplier and commercial contracts.
- Providing commercially practical advice to executives and operational leaders on contractual obligations, risk and commercial exposure.
- Supporting major tenders and new business opportunities, including contract review, commercial risk assessment, pricing assumptions and negotiations.
- Strengthening commercial governance, contract management frameworks, approval processes and risk controls.
- Advising on contract variations, renewals, claims, performance issues, disputes and contractual remedies.
- Supporting commercial negotiations with major clients, suppliers and service providers.
- Ensuring contractual commitments are commercially sustainable and operationally achievable.
- Working with external legal advisers where specialist legal support is required.
- Building commercial capability across the organisation through coaching, guidance and improved processes.

What You'll Bring

You will be an experienced commercial leader who is equally comfortable working through complex contract provisions and sitting with operational leaders to work out what they mean in practice.

We are looking for someone with:

- Significant experience in senior commercial, contracts,

legal or contract management roles, with demonstrated progression into broader commercial leadership.
- Strong experience reviewing, interpreting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Demonstrated experience managing contractual risk, commercial negotiations, claims, variations and disputes.
- Experience supporting major tenders, proposals, contract negotiations and new business opportunities.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including an understanding of pricing, margins, risk and broader business impacts.
- The ability to translate complex legal and contractual issues into clear, practical and commercially focused advice.
- Robust negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management capability.
- Confidence working with senior executives, operational leaders, clients and external advisers.
- Sound commercial judgement and the ability to balance contractual protection with practical business outcomes.
- The ability to operate autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in outsourced services, facilities management, infrastructure, property and asset services, construction, transport, security, cleaning or another complex contract-driven environment will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

- A tertiary qualification in Law (LLB, JD or equivalent).
- Admission as a lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction.
- Significant demonstrated experience in commercial contracting, negotiation and contract management.
- Postgraduate qualification in Business, Commerce, Management or a related discipline.
- MBA or other relevant postgraduate commercial qualification.
- Professional certification or further study in contract management, procurement or commercial management.

Why Join Trident?

This is an opportunity to take on a genuinely influential commercial leadership role within an established Australian-owned organisation experiencing continued growth.

You will have:

- Significant exposure to our Executive Leadership Team.
- The opportunity to influence major commercial and contractual decisions.
- Exposure to complex, high-value contracts and significant tender opportunities.

- The opportunity to strengthen and shape Trident's commercial frameworks and capability.
- Broad engagement across operational, finance, people, risk and executive functions.
- The autonomy to identify opportunities and drive meaningful commercial improvement.
- Competitive executive remuneration of $190,000 – $220,0 00 plus superannuation, reflecting the experience and capability of the successful candidate.
- Adaptable working arrangements.
