About the Role n

As a Fire Technician,



you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance and minor repair of fire protection systems in accordance with Australian Standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- n

Conduct routine inspections, testing and maintenance of fire protection systems, including:

n n
- n

Fire hydrants and hose reels

n
- n

Fire sprinkler systems

n
- n

Portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets

n
- n

Emergency and exit lighting

n
- n

Fire detection and alarm systems

n
- n

Fire doors and passive fire systems

n

n
- n

Perform hydrant and sprinkler flow testing and accurately interpret results.

n
- n

Identify defects, non-compliances and maintenance requirements.

n
- n

Carry out minor repairs and rectification works where appropriate.

n
- n

Complete service reports, test records and compliance documentation accurately and on time.

n
- n

Maintain a high standard of customer service when dealing with clients and site representatives.

n
- n

Ensure company vehicles, tools and equipment are maintained and presented professionally.

n
- n

Work in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, including AS 1851, AS 2293 and associated fire safety regulations.

n

Desirable (but not essential) n

Applicants with previous fire protection industry experience may have skills including:

Inspection and testing of various fire alarm systems and panels.

n
- n

Testing of hydrant and sprinkler pump sets.

n
- n

Testing smoke alarms and smoke detection systems.

n
- n

Inspection and testing of emergency and exit lighting systems.

n
- n

Maintenance of portable fire equipment.

n
- n

Fire door inspections.

n
- n

Fire hydrant and hose reel testing, including flow testing.

n
- n

Routine maintenance in accordance with AS 1851.

n
- n

Defect identification and reporting.

n
- n

Minor defect repairs and rectification.

n
- n

Installation of fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

n

n

Experience is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided to the right applicant with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
