Position Overview

As an Experienced or Apprentice Parts Interpreter at Hutcheon & Pearce, you’ll play a key role in supporting our customers and service team from our Tamworth Branch .

n

Whether you’re an experienced Parts Interpreter looking for your next opportunity, or someone eager to start a rewarding career through an apprenticeship, you’ll be part of a team that helps keep our customers moving by providing the right parts, advice, and support.

This is a hands-on role that combines customer service, sales, inventory management, and parts interpretation. You’ll work closely with customers, technicians, and suppliers to ensure parts are sourced, supplied, and delivered efficiently.

n

The position is primarily Monday to Friday , with Saturday work required on a rostered basis during peak periods and to support branch operations.

n

For Apprentice Parts Interpreters, this role includes completing a Certificate III in Automotive Sales (Parts Interpreting) through TAFE NSW while gaining valuable on-the-job experience.

n

What You’ll Be Doing

n

n
- Providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers with their parts enquiries
n
- Interpreting and identifying parts requirements for customers and service technicians
n
- Promoting and selling parts, attachments, merchandise, and related products.
n
- Supplying Service Technicians with parts required for repairs and maintenance.
n
- Processing stock orders and machine down orders.
n




- Receiving and allocating incoming stock to inventory locations.
n
- Assisting with parts deliveries and inventory management.
n
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting stock control processes.
n
- Following up on backorders and communicating updates to customers and technicians.
n
- Assisting with merchandising displays and maintaining a clean, organised parts department.
n
- Participating in training and development programs to build product and industry knowledge.
n

What You’ll Bring

Experienced Parts Interpreters

n

n
- Previous experience in parts interpreting, automotive, agricultural, construction, or similar industries.
n
- Solid customer service and communication skills.
n
- Ability to interpret parts requirements and provide solutions.
n

n

Apprentice Parts Interpreters

n

n
- A genuine interest in parts, machinery, automotive, or agriculture.
n
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
n
- A positive attitude and commitment to completing formal training.
n

n

- Strong organisational and time management skills.
n
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- Commitment to safe work practices.
n




- Forklift licence preferred (or willingness to obtain one with our support).
