About the Role

As a Child and Family Health Nurse/Midwife, you will play a vital role in supporting infants, young children and their families through the critical early years of life. Working with children from birth to five years of age, you will provide evidence-based assessments, health education, developmental screening, immunisation support, and early intervention services within a community setting. You will deliver family-centred care that promotes positive health outcomes while identifying and responding to clinical concerns, complex family needs, and child safety risks. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate care, build strong therapeutic relationships, and contribute to a supportive and responsive service that empowers families to thrive.

About You

You are a compassionate and skilled Child and Family Health Nurse or Midwife with current registration and postgraduate qualifications in child and family health nursing. You bring sound clinical judgement, solid assessment skills and a commitment to delivering safe, family-centred care. You are confident managing a diverse caseload, including families with complex needs, and are able to recognise and respond appropriately to child wellbeing and safety concerns. With excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children, parents and carers, you work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You are comfortable using technology to support clinical practice and are committed to ongoing professional development, including obtaining Nurse Immuniser authorisation if not already accredited.



A current unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence is essential to support community-based service delivery.

What you'll be doing
The Child and Family Health Nurse/ Midwife is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, providing nursing care to families/carers of the health service.
The role utilises evidence-based knowledge and skills to monitor the growth, development and health of the child (0 to 5 years of age) within the context of the family, and to provide a co-ordinated family centred approach, advice, health information, first line counselling (where appropriate) and referral to relevant support services.
