This is an opportunity to step into a key clinical leadership role and shape the future of musculoskeletal physiotherapy services at Launceston General Hospital. The role combines hands-on expert clinical practice with leadership, service development, education, and innovation across inpatient and outpatient services. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, this position plays a pivotal role in enhancing patient outcomes, supporting staff development, and driving excellence in care delivery.

The Role

As the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist - Musculoskeletal, the successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership across a diverse musculoskeletal caseload, including the emergency department, musculoskeletal outpatients, orthopaedic clinic and hands, burns and plastics clinics. The role is responsible for coordinating physiotherapy resources, mentoring clinicians, championing evidence-based practice, and contributing to strategic service improvements that make a meaningful difference to patients and the broader community.

About the successful candidate

This role will suit a passionate and experienced physiotherapy leader who enjoys balancing clinical expertise with mentoring, service development and collaboration.

- Demonstrated senior-level experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with the ability to manage complex clinical presentations and provide expert advice across specialist practice areas.
- Strong leadership capability, including coordinating services, supporting workforce development, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Commitment to clinical excellence through evidence-based practice, quality improvement, innovation, education and research.
- Highly developed communication and relationship‑building skills,



with the ability to influence, collaborate and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Details of appointment

- Permanent
- Full time
- Day worker
- 76 hours per fortnight

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

$131,122 to $138,984 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.





- Please note that access to salaries beyond $135,445 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1200 per annum, paid on a fortnightly, pro rata basis.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

- Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

- Current Driver’s Licence
- An active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Musculoskeletal Group.
