$76,907 to $79,000 p.a. (pro-rata) ($38.92 to $39.97 per hour) + 13.5% superannuation.

About The Role

As the Youth Arts and Play Officer, you will create and deliver engaging, inclusive and play-based programs that support the wellbeing, creativity and development of young people across Hobart. Working as part of the Youth Programs team, you will build positive relationships with young people and provide opportunities for them to connect, participate and contribute to community life through arts, cultural, recreational and social activities.

Role Accountabilities Include

- Coordinate and deliver creative arts, cultural, recreational and social programs, workshops and events with young people.
- Take a lead role during Open Access sessions, actively engaging and supporting young people.
- Design and facilitate creative, recreational, and play-based experiences that foster connection, wellbeing, exploration, skill development and positive developmental outcomes with young people.
- Collaborate with young people and colleagues to develop promotional materials and showcase program outcomes.
- Assist with program planning, budgeting, reporting and the collection of program data and evaluations.
- Identify and respond to the interests and needs of young people while working collaboratively across community programs and initiatives.

About You

The desired applicant will hold a Certificate in Community Arts, Youth Work,



Community Development or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience), together with a current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People and a current Driver Licence. You are passionate about supporting young people and creating inclusive opportunities that foster connection, creativity, participation and personal growth.

With experience working directly with children and young people, you have a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and engage young people from diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings. You are creative, energetic and confident in designing and delivering arts, music, play, recreational and community-based programs that encourage participation and support positive youth development.

If you have strong communication skills, a passion for working with young people, a can-do attitude and want to work in a dynamic and vibrant team environment then this may be the role for you.
