About the Team

This role will be based at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence – MILVEHCOE, Redbank. This will be a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast paced, collaborative team of professionals. You will manage a growing team of production workers and machine operators across two shifts.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a team lead for our day shift (6am - 3pm) and our afternoon shift (3pm - 11pm).

About The Role

The Armour Shop Team Leader oversees the floor production, coordinates shifts, and ensures strict adherence to Lean manufacturing principles, safety, quality & production targets. The Team Leader plays a key role in the production of composite armour panels, supporting both the assembly and finishing processes. This includes preparing materials and components prior to bonding, ensuring all surfaces are properly treated, and assisting with the accurate placement and curing of adhesives. You will also contribute to quality control by inspecting parts for defects and ensuring compliance with safety and manufacturing standards throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities Involve

- Track production metrics to meet daily manufacturing targets;
- Assist with Production Manager with conducting daily and weekly audits / meetings;
- Assisting the Production Manager with shift handovers, rostering and training;
- Ensuring work is always done safely and up to the correct quality standards;




- Operating machinery and assembly of composite panels.

What Qualifications You Should Have

- Supervisory experience; 2+ years leading teams;
- Hands on experience with Lean Manufacturing;
- Proficient in workforce management tools and shift planning;
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment, vacuum sealing equipment or adhesive bonding equipment experience would be highly advantageous;
- Ability to interpret engineering instructions and assemble components with an attention to detail;
- Already holding or the ability to gain and hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
