Looking for the consistency of a regular roster without committing to a permanent position?

A friendly small animal practice in Paradise Point on the Gold Coast is looking for an experienced locum veterinarian to join their team for a longer-term block from November 2026 through to approximately January/February 2027.

The additional support is required while one of the clinic’s veterinarians is on maternity leave and the practice works towards recruiting another permanent vet.

They are ideally looking for someone who can become a regular part of the team for a few months, working approximately 3–4 days per week plus rotational Saturdays.

Ideal Roster

The clinic’s priority days are:

- Monday
- Thursday
- Friday
- Rotational Saturdays

There may be some flexibility around the exact roster depending on the locum’s availability, so vets who can assist with a substantial portion of the block are still encouraged to enquire.

Clinical Work

The position can be predominantly consults only,



making it a great option for a vet who prefers a consulting-focused GP role.

For vets who enjoy surgery, there may also be the opportunity to incorporate surgical work depending on your experience, skill set and preferences.

Most importantly, there is no sole charge requirement.

Saturdays

Saturday shifts run from 8:00am–1:00pm, although the team will often finish at approximately 12:30pm.

Saturdays are:

- Consults only
- No sole charge
- Worked alongside another veterinarian
- Included on a rotational basis rather than every weekend

Christmas & Recent Year

As this placement runs across the festive period, the clinic offers a roster that still allows for some downtime over Christmas and New Year.

The practice is closed on public holidays, with shortened hours on:

- Christmas Eve: Half day, finishing at 12:00pm
- New Year’s Eve: Half day, finishing at 12:00pm
