Area Manager - Early Education Child Care

Area Manager - Help shape the future of a growing, family-owned Early Childhood group.

We are seeking an experienced Early Childhood leader to join our small, family-owned and operated group as Area Manager for the Albury/Wodonga region.

This is an opportunity to join us ahead of future growth, build strong relationships, contribute to regional planning and help establish the foundations for sustainable expansion.

About the role

Working alongside our Owner, Operations Manager, Pedagogical Leader and service leadership teams, you will provide regional leadership, operational support and mentoring while helping each service maintain its unique identity, culture and community connections.

You will be responsible for:

Coaching, mentoring and developing Centre Directors/Nominated Supervisors and leadership teams

Supporting high-quality educational practice, curriculum and pedagogy

Maintaining strong standards across compliance, child safety, governance and operations

Supporting Assessment & Rating and continuous improvement

Workforce planning, recruitment, retention and team culture

Monitoring occupancy, rostering and operational performance

Building leadership capability and succession pathways

Being visible and engaged across services, children, families and communities

Developing partnerships with local schools, sporting clubs, community organisations and businesses

Strengthening connections with Country and local Aboriginal communities

Supporting initiatives such as Bush Kindy, community-based learning and excursions

Contributing to the planning, establishment and resourcing of future services across the region

Who we’re looking for

You may already be an Area Manager, or you may be an experienced Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor ready for the next step. The role is availabel for full time but also could be adjusted to 3 or 4 days per week.

You will ideally have:

Significant leadership experience in Early Childhood Education and Care

Experience as a Centre Director, Nominated Supervisor, Area Manager or similar senior leader

A Diploma, Bachelor or other approved relevant qualification

Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations

Robust knowledge of Child Safe Standards and Practices, Child Protection Knowledge and Advocacy for children.

Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop leaders

Strong operational, communication and problem-solving skills

A genuine commitment to education, pedagogy and quality,



with a clear understanding of your personal philosophy.

Confidence managing challenging conversations respectfully

A collaborative leadership style and commitment to continuous improvement

A genuine passion for community connection
