Position Overview The Retail Butcher position is a full time
skilled role responsible for the preparation, processing, and
retail sale of meat products. The role requires a high level of
trade skill, product knowledge, and compliance with Australian food
safety and workplace standards. The position is essential to the
ongoing operations and growth of the business. Duties and
Responsibilities The Retail Butcher will undertake duties
consistent with ANZSCO 351211, including but not limited to:
Preparing, cutting, trimming, boning, rolling, and slicing beef,
lamb, pork, poultry, and other meats for retail sale Operating and
maintaining butchery equipment including bandsaws, slicers,
mincers, and knives Producing value-added products such as
sausages, marinated meats, and specialty cuts Preparing meat
products to customer specifications and providing expert advice on
cooking methods Weighing, pricing, labelling, and displaying meat




products for retail sale Ensuring strict compliance with food
safety, hygiene, and temperature control requirements Maintaining
clean and safe work areas in line with WHS and food safety
legislation Monitoring stock levels, rotating stock, minimising
waste, and assisting with ordering Supporting daily retail
operations including opening and closing procedures Contributing to
staff guidance and on-the-job training where required Skills,
Qualifications and Experience Relevant trade qualification as a
Butcher or equivalent demonstrated experience Minimum of 3 years'
post-qualification or equivalent experience in a retail butchery
environment Proven ability to perform skilled meat preparation
techniques independently Strong knowledge of Australian food safety
standards Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work full-time in a physically demanding role ANNUAL
SALARY: $77,064 TO $100,000
