We’re looking for a Corporate Accountant to join a well-established organisation in regional Queensland for an initial 4-month contract, with the potential to extend and, for the right person, transition into a permanent opportunity.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll play a hands-on role across corporate accounting, financial and management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance and financial systems.

What you’ll be doing
This role is for someone who likes to get things done. You’ll be trusted to take ownership, work with a high level of accuracy and keep the numbers moving.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Financial and management accounting and reporting
- Month-end reporting, including P&L;, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
- Reconciliations, analysis and verification of financial data
- Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Cash management and financial asset register administration
- BAS, financial statements and other statutory reporting
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements
- Financial systems administration and responding to finance-related queries
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and stronger financial governance
- Working across the business to provide practical commercial and financial insight

What you’ll bring
You’ll be a self-starter and a doer – someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership and doesn't need to be chased.
You’ll also bring:

- A degree qualification in Business,



Commerce, Accounting or equivalent
- CA or CPA membership – or actively working towards completion
- Strong financial and management accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience across financial analysis, budgeting and reporting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with computerised accounting/financial systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a broader finance team
- A practical, continuous-improvement mindset.

Location:
The role can be based in Gladstone or Brisbane, with Gladstone as the preferred location.
