Grant Officer

Mosaic Multicultural Connections is looking for emerging talent to join our team. We are currently recruiting for two casual opportunities – Grant Officer and Communications Focal Point.

You might see yourself in one of these roles. You might see yourself in both.

We are less interested in putting the right person into a narrow box and more interested in understanding what you bring – your strengths, your interests and where you could make the greatest contribution.

What could you bring to Grants?

Maybe you’re the person who enjoys pulling apart a funding guideline and figuring out exactly what the funder is really asking for.

Maybe you love research, writing, problem-solving or taking information from five different people and turning it into one clear, persuasive document.

You may already have some grant experience – or your background might be in communications, research, policy, community development, project work or another field that has given you highly transferable skills.

What matters to us is that you can research, analyse, write and connect the dots – and that you’re interested in learning how great grant work can create opportunities for communities.

What you could be working on

- Researching government, philanthropic and other funding opportunities
- Helping assess whether opportunities are a good fit for Mosaic
- Drafting and editing applications, expressions of interest, concept notes and supporting material
- Bringing information together from program, finance,



compliance and human resources teams
- Supporting grant reporting, acquittals and funder deliverables
- Maintaining grant calendars, registers, agreements and records
- Gathering outcome data, stories and evidence that demonstrate community impact

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in someone who can make sense of information, solve problems and turn complex material into clear, persuasive writing.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading capability
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to interpret guidelines and identify what information is missing
- Confidence coordinating input from different people and managing deadlines
- A respectful and collaborative approach to working in a multicultural community organisation
- Grant, government-funder, program logic, acquittal or impact-reporting experience is highly regarded, but transferable capability matters too

We are advertising the Grant Officer and Communications Focal Point as two separate casual opportunities, but we are open to the right person working across both roles.
