This rewarding role plays a vital part in supporting the HIMS Department in achieving and maintaining excellence in health information standards. Successful candidates will work across both the Rockingham General Hospital Health Information Department and community site-based teams, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.

The South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Health Information Management Services team, based at Rockingham General Hospital, Mandurah Community Health, Peel Mental Health and Rockingham Community Adult Mental Health is seeking a pool of enthusiastic and motivated individuals to provide high-quality administrative support to the Health Information Management Services department.
This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where your contribution will play a key role in supporting the delivery of safe and effective patient care. Flexibility is essential, as shifts are rostered across a 24/7 schedule, including day, public holidays, evening, weekend and night shifts.

Position Profile and Role
We are currently seeking Health Information Management Services Officers (HIMS Officer) to join our team.
As part of the multidisciplinary team the HIMS Officer provides a comprehensive administrative and clerical service for the Rockingham Peel Group (RkPG), patients, families and visitors. This role maintains and processes department information in accordance with RkPG policies, procedures and health information system requirements. In addition,
this role supports the delivery of safe patient care and the consumers experience including participation in continuous quality improvement activities in accordance with the requirements of the national Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other recognised health standards.
This recruitment process offers Permanent/Fixed Term Full Time/Part Time contract(s) for with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.
We currently have 1.6 FTE available commencing October 2026.
