The Role

QT Melbourne is a 5-star, 188-room design hotel in the heart of the city's theatre district, with a collection of distinctive event spaces including Paramount, Barclay, King, Union, the Secret Garden and the iconic Rooftop at QT. The conference and events operation here is anything but ordinary and we need a Food and Beverage Team Leader who can keep up. You'll be the person on the floor who holds the standard, guides the team and makes sure every event runs exactly as the client imagined it, and then some.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, supervise and support the conference and events F&B; team throughout service, providing hands-on guidance, training and coaching that drives performance and guest satisfaction.
- Oversee daily operations across the conference and events department including scheduling, inventory management, cost control and compliance with all health, safety and sanitation regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee the execution of conferences, banquets, special events and catering services, ensuring every detail is delivered seamlessly and to the client's brief.
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation and portion control across all events, collaborating with chefs and management to ensure consistency and adherence to menu standards.
- Ensure exceptional guest service standards are maintained at all times, responding to enquiries, feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Monitor the department's financial performance including revenue, expenses and profitability, implementing strategies to maximise results and completing all opening and closing duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

- Proven experience in a food and beverage supervisory or team leader role, ideally within a hotel conference and events environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, develop and motivate a team in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.




- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously without dropping the ball.
- A solid understanding of food and beverage cost control, inventory management and financial performance monitoring.
- A current RSA certification and VCGLR competency card.
- Impeccable personal presentation and a professional, positive approach when the pressure is on.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays as event schedules demand.
