About the Role

We’re looking for a Steel Detailer/Construction Modeler to join our team at Watkins Steel / Holovision 3D. In this role, you’ll create detailed 3D models and drawings for complex structural steel and metalwork projects using Tekla Structures. In this role, you will work under minimal supervision, so drive and initiative to produce high quality work are essential.

Tasks & responsibilities

- Produce accurate and complete drawing packages aligned with project specifications.

- Develop general arrangement and fabrication drawings for fabrication and installation.

- Provide essential documentation for production, including shop drawings, IFC models, reports, and CNC files.





- Interpret architectural and engineering plans and translate site measurements into precise models.

- Utilize laser scan data (point clouds) for modelling existing structures.

- Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding RFIs and project updates.

- Work independently on assigned projects, demonstrating initiative and accountability.

- Maintain strong technical knowledge and continuously improve skills in Tekla and other CAD software.

- Maintain a strong, fast paced and supportive team culture.

Qualifications & experience

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in structural steel detailing and construction modelling

- Proficiency in Tekla Structures or similar 3D building design software.

- Strong ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans.

- Knowledge of structural steel applications and construction processes.

- Experience with 3D point cloud processing tools is advantageous

- A qualification equivalent to an associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma is required.
