The Role

Rooftop at QT Melbourne is one of the city's most iconic bar destinations, perched above the theatre district with sweeping city views and a reputation for delivering nights that guests don't forget. Set within QT Melbourne's 5-star, 188-room design hotel on Russell Street, the Rooftop is a high-energy, high-standard venue that needs a leader to match. We're looking for an Assistant Venue Manager who is sharp, hands-on and ready to help run one of Melbourne's most talked-about rooftop experiences. This is a permanent,



full-time role with a minimum guaranteed 38 hours per week. If you thrive in a fast-paced premium venue environment and love developing a team as much as you love a great guest experience, this is your kind of role.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the Venue Manager in the daily operations of Rooftop at QT Melbourne, maintaining the highest standards of service, presentation and guest experience across every shift.
- Lead, supervise and develop the floor team, conducting on-the-job training, managing rosters and fostering a positive, high-performance team culture.
- Act as the primary point of contact for guests on shift, handling enquiries, resolving issues and ensuring every interaction reflects the QT standard.
- Drive revenue performance on shift, actively promoting the venue's food, beverage and event offerings and supporting a strong upselling culture across the team.
- Manage inventory and assist with ordering and stock control to ensure the venue is always well-stocked and operating efficiently.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety and venue policies throughout every shift, maintaining the venue's duty log and escalating any issues to the Venue Manager promptly.

What You'll Bring

- A minimum of 12 months experience in a hospitality management or supervisory role, ideally within a premium hotel or high-volume venue.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the confidence to manage guest feedback professionally and effectively.
- Familiarity with hospitality management software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A current RSA certification and Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) competency card.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
