We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Chef to join our Cook Chill Production team based at our modern Hilton facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef looking for work-life balance, with Monday to Friday daytime hours only and no late nights, split shifts, or weekend work.
About the Role
Reporting to the Cook Chill Production Manager and working alongside a dedicated culinary team, you will play an important role in producing high-quality meals for South Australians who rely on our service.
This is a permanent full-time position of 38 hours per week, working between 6:00am and 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce meals within a large-scale Cook Chill production environment.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and food safety.
- Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
- Monitor product quality and consistency to meet customer expectations.
- Contribute to menu development, recipe improvement, and innovation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, FSANZ, and workplace safety requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of meals for specialised and therapeutic diets, including IDDSI requirements.
About You
You are a qualified chef who enjoys working in a structured, professional production environment and takes pride in delivering quality food at scale.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
- Experience working in commercial kitchens or large production environments.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP principles, and FSANZ requirements.
- Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Cook Chill production facility.
- Experience with therapeutic diets and IDDSI standards.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Exposure to budgeting, stock control, and cost management. ]
