About the role

We are seeking a friendly and organised Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis at our Rockingham Beach location. For the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to transition into a permanent part-time position. This role is pivotal in ensuring our practice runs smoothly, as you will be the first point of contact for our patients and will provide essential support to our clinical team.

Working on a casual basis, you will have flexibility in your schedule whilst contributing significantly to the efficient operation of our dental practice. This position offers an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in the dental industry whilst maintaining schedule flexibility.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting patients warmly upon arrival and providing exceptional customer service at reception

- Managing appointment scheduling and maintaining accurate patient records

- Processing patient payments and handling general administrative tasks

- Assisting dentists and hygienists during clinical procedures, including instrument preparation and sterilisation

- Maintaining a clean and organised dental surgery environment





- Answering patient enquiries and providing information about dental treatments

- Supporting the clinical team with patient care and comfort during procedures

- Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with dental practice regulations and patient privacy requirements

What we're looking for

- Previous experience as a dental assistant or in a similar healthcare reception role is highly desirable

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff

- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail

- Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer literacy
- A genuine interest in dentistry and commitment to patient care
- The ability to remain calm and composed in a busy clinical environment

- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to work shifts as required on a casual basis
