We are a Uniting Church school catering for approximately 1000 day and boarding students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. Our campus is located in the leafy suburb of Peppermint Grove, situated between the ocean and the river.

Job Description

About The Role

As a casual Relief Teacher or Education Assistant in our Junior School you will provide classroom and student support and supervision from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6, when our regular Teachers and Education Assistants are absent, or additional assistance is required. Duties may vary depending on the year level and immediate needs of the classroom.

Responsibilities may include:

- Teaching and supporting Teachers, with the delivery of classroom activities and learning programmes.
- Providing individual and small-group support to students.
- Working with students to engage positively in learning activities.
- Setting up, preparing and organising classroom resources and materials.
- Managing classroom routines,



transitions and student supervision.
- Ensuring a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment at all times.
- Undertaking other duties as directed by the Head of Junior School.

About You

The successful applicant will ideally have:

- Relevant qualifications and for teachers TRBWA registration
- Experience working with Junior School aged children in a school, education or similar workplace.
- A warm, patient and flexible approach to working with students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to quickly adapt to different classrooms, year levels and teaching environments.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to work as part of a team.
- A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.

Availability

we are particularly seeking applicants who have regular availability across most weekdays during school terms.
