Domestic Assistance Support Worker - Ongoing Friday Shift

About the role

The successful support worker will assist the client to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable home workplace while promoting independence, dignity and choice.

The role is focused primarily on domestic assistance and household support.

Key duties may include

- General household cleaning
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Dusting and wiping surfaces
- Cleaning bathrooms and toilets
- Washing dishes and general kitchen tidying
- Laundry assistance
- Folding and putting away clothes
- Light household organisation and tidying
- Emptying household rubbish
- Cleaning commonly used areas of the home
- Completing agreed domestic tasks in accordance with the client's care plan
- Identifying and reporting any safety concerns or changes observed during the visit
- Completing required progress notes after each service

- Comfortable working independently in a client's home
- Able to follow care plans and instructions
- Able to communicate professionally with clients, families and the care team
- Physically capable of completing routine domestic assistance tasks
- Committed to maintaining client privacy, dignity and confidentiality

Preferred experience

Previous experience in any of the following areas would be highly regarded:

- Aged care
- Disability support
- Community care
- Domestic assistance
- Professional cleaning

Requirements

Applicants should have, or be willing to obtain where required:

- National Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Reliable transport to and from the client's home
- Appropriate insurance and documentation where applicable
- Understanding of infection control, manual handling and workplace safety
- Ability to complete electronic progress notes
