Brisbane Respiratory and Sleep Specialists are looking to add a casual Medical Receptionist to their team. You will be working alongside a part-time practice manager and two part-time medical receptionists. The prospect to progress to a Permanent Part Time Role is available for the right candidate. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

- Responding to incoming phone calls in a courteous and professional manner
- Managing all patient appointments, including cancellation list and ensuring GP referrals are up to date
- Meet and greet of patients visiting the practice
- Assisting with general patient enquiries via telephone and email in a polite and courteous manner
- Managing call patient recalls in conjunction with specialists
- Maintain a high quality of record keeping for patient files
- Preparing and running patient clinics
- Ensuring a high level of accuracy with data input into the patient management system
- Ensuring patient records are up to date for the consultations




- Reviewing upcoming clinics and ensuring all patient records are in order before the day of the clinic and appointment reminders have been sent out to patients

About you

- A minimum of 12 months medical reception or administration experience, specialist practice highly desired
- An exemplary phone manner and compassionate demeanour
- Exception communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to tactfully handle difficult interactions with patients and their family members
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Previous experience using Xestro would be highly regarded, if not, experience with other practice management software such as Gentu or Genie
- Proficiency with patient billing, including Medicare, Private Health Funds, DVA and Workcover
- Australian work rights are required for this position
