About the Role
With an exciting program of performances and events ahead, QPAC is looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our QTIX team as casual Ticket Sales Officers .
As a Ticket Sales Officer, you'll be at the heart of the patron experience, promoting and selling tickets to QPAC events, providing ticketing and sales support, and delivering exceptional customer service to patrons visiting Queensland's leading performing arts centre.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing the highest level of customer service by assisting patrons with ticket sales and enquiries over the phone and at QTIX counter locations for events presented by QPAC and QTIX’s external clients. Ensuring accurate information, advice and support across a diverse range of performances, venues and events.
- Assisting patrons experiencing difficulties with online ticket purchases through the QTIX website.
- Assisting patrons with accessibility requirements and Patrons with Needs (PWN) bookings, delivering service that aligns with QPAC’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) and commitment to inclusion.
- Resolving customer concerns in a calm, professional and tactful manner.
- Upselling and cross-selling products to enhance the patron experience.
- Processing cash, credit card, EFTPOS and Stripe transactions and reconciling sales balances at the conclusion of each shift.
- Assisting with ticket administration, processing and distribution.
- Adhering to QTIX policies, procedures and transaction scripts.
- Managing ticket sales and collections in line with event deadlines and performance schedules. Coordinating ticket sales and collections at off-site locations as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in a customer service and/or contact centre environment, with ticketing experience highly desirable.
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of people in person and over the phone
- Sound computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn recent systems.
- Excellent administration skills,
with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, make sound decisions, adapt to changing circumstances, and maintain professionalism in demanding situations while working independently.
Minimum Availability Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following minimum availability requirements:
- flexibility to work across a seven-day roster , including day, evening and weekend shifts;
- at least three shifts per week ; and
- at least two out of four Friday and Saturday nights each month .
Recruitment Process
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an in-person Group Interview at QPAC on 15 October 2026.
Attendance is by invitation only.
Applicants who are successful through the recruitment process must be available to attend all scheduled paid training and induction sessions on:
- 28, 29 and 30 October, and 2 and 3 November 2026.
Attendance at all five training dates is mandatory. If you are unable to attend all dates, unfortunately we will not be able to progress your application on this occasion.
