Assistant Accountant/Payroll Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a Part-Time Assistant Accountant/Payroll Coordinator to join our team at our Silverwater, NSW office.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills and career in accounting and payroll while enjoying flexible part-time work.

You will support our payroll and accounting functions, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time. You will work closely with our experienced team in a supportive and professional environment.

Key responsibilities

- Coordinate fortnightly and monthly payroll
- Manage employee onboarding and terminations
- Prepare payroll tax and payroll journals
- Perform general ledger (GL) reconciliations
- Assist with workers compensation insurance
- Respond to employee payroll and accounting queries




- Provide backup support to team members when required

What we're looking for

- Qualification in accounting, payroll, or business administration, or relevant experience
- Experience with payroll and accounting software; Employment Hero or SAP B1 is preferred
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Solid attention to detail
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Understanding of Australian payroll and tax requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and develop your skills
- Previous payroll or accounting experience is an advantage
