About the prospect

Our Client is a long-established residential aged care provider with strong roots in the Newcastle community. They are looking for an experienced Clinical Leader to take responsibility for clinical care across a large residential aged care home.

Importantly, you’ll be joining a home with a stable Registered Nurse workforce and limited agency use, allowing you to spend more time developing your team, strengthening clinical practice and improving resident outcomes.

You’ll work closely with the Facility Manager and have the support of a Clinical Care Coordinator beneath you, creating a clear management structure across the home.

The role

This is a visible clinical leadership position with a strong focus on clinical governance, staff development and quality improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading and supporting Registered Nurses and care teams
- Mentoring and developing the Clinical Care Coordinator
- Overseeing resident assessments, care planning and clinical reviews
- Monitoring clinical indicators, incidents, risks and resident outcomes
- Supporting AN-ACC and accurate clinical documentation
- Leading clinical audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintaining strong medication management and clinical governance
- Supporting accreditation readiness and regulatory compliance




- Building strong relationships with residents, families, GPs and allied health
- Working closely with the Facility Manager to maintain a positive team culture

About you

You’ll be an approachable and confident clinical leader who can maintain high standards while still bringing people along with you.

You’ll ideally bring:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Strong residential aged care experience
- Previous clinical leadership or management experience
- Sound knowledge of clinical governance and care planning
- Experience with AN-ACC, audits and continuous improvement
- Strong coaching, mentoring and performance management skills
- Confidence managing clinical risk, compliance and quality
