OVERVIEW The University of Queensland is seeking a Manager, International Content and Communication to lead its global content strategy within the Future Students Division, Global Engagement team. This full-time fixed-term position runs through December 2027 and is based at the St Lucia campus in Australia. Reporting to the Senior Manager, International Marketing and Communication, the role focuses on delivering audience-centred communications that support international student recruitment across global markets. The position involves leading a high-performing team and managing strategic communication initiatives across content, campaigns, social media, web, publications, and events. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to strengthen global messaging frameworks and support the university’s international engagement goals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the international content and communication function.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of international marketing and communication strategies and annual work plans.
- Manage a team of content and communication professionals.
- Ensure priorities are delivered effectively and stakeholders receive exceptional support and advice.
- Drive the development of international marketing collateral, communication materials, and content supporting student recruitment objectives.
- Lead creative production activities across multiple communication channels.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Oversee content governance and messaging frameworks.
- Support performance optimisation across communication channels.
- Collaborate with the Manager, International Campaign and Prospect Engagement across a diverse communications portfolio.
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualifications and experience, or an equivalent combination of professional expertise, in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline.
- Experience leading high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated success leading a communications and content function.
- Experience with people leadership, budget oversight, strategic planning, and delivery of organisational priorities.
- Strong expertise across contemporary communication channels and content strategies.
- Track record of producing high-quality content and measurable communication outcomes for diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage complex creative projects and stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working effectively with external agencies.
- Ability to influence decision makers and balance competing priorities in a rapid-paced environment.
- Robust leadership capability and exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
