The Position: The School is looking to appoint two outstanding scholars whose expertise will complement the School’s existing strengths. Both appointees will be expected to carry out world-leading research resulting in regular publications in leading venues, contribute to the School’s stellar teaching program, supervise HDR students, apply for external grants, and be available for service roles as appropriate. At least one of the appointees will work in ethics and/or social and political philosophy. The other will work in any area that complements the School’s existing strengths, including the capacity to contribute to teaching in Philosophy and AI.

The School The School of Philosophy, Research School of Social Sciences, is a world-leading department that combines several of the world's most cited living philosophers with energetic and award-winning mid-career and early career researchers. ANU philosophers enjoy what is widely recognized as one of the world’s best environments for research and teaching in Philosophy. Our principal strengths are in moral and political philosophy, philosophyof science (especially philosophy of biology, probability, and decision theory), and philosophyof mind and psychology.
