Saunders’ growth strategy and awarded project portfolio means we are currently seeking an experienced HSE Advisor withproven experience in welding supervision and a thorough working knowledge of Australian Standards and quality systems. The role also fully utilises the Integrated Management System across the project to achieve continual improvement and legal compliance. This is a full-time role reporting to the General Manager - SHEQ, supporting the delivery of a critical infrastructure construction project, with a key focus on one team, one aim - zero harm. The HSE Advisor plays a pivotal strategic role in fostering a strong quality culture by implementing company best practice welding procedures and quality systems.
Your responsibilities include:
Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of project HSE plans, procedures and safety systems.
Support SHEQ General Manager for delivery of HSE key objectives across Saunders.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits and safety observations, and follow up corrective actions to completion.
Assist with incident reporting and investigations, identify contributing factors and support effective corrective actions.
Provide practical HSE advice, coaching and support to workers, supervisors, subcontractors and project teams.
Prepare HSE reports, maintain accurate records and communicate key safety and environmental requirements through pre-starts and toolbox meetings.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Health and Safety or Environment
- 8+ year working experience in high risk working environment construction, oil and gas etc.
- Incident Investigation certification i.e. ICAM or TAPROOT qualified
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment preferred
