Job Description

Key Responsibilities of the role

- Administers medication as per AHPRA Guidelines for Medication Administration EN.
- Contributes to resident assessment, care planning and evaluation of care. Documents any observed exceptions to the care plan in the resident’s progress notes, and reports same to the RN in Charge.
- Plans, organises and implements allocated or delegated nursing activities and general ward duties. Work practice is consistent with contemporary nursing practise.
- Assists and supports residents to maintain independence and dignity with respect to activities of daily living and lifestyle.
- Checks resident’s daily menu requirements where applicable,
- Assists and supports Personal Care Workers as required.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

- Enrolled Nurse with endorsement to administer medication with current registration from AHPRA.
- Course qualification in Medication Administration approved by AHPRA.
- Experience in aged care or health sector is a strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ACFI and Standards of Aged Care.
- Proven people and communication skills including relationship building, cooperation, conflict resolution, influencing others and facilitating open discussions.
- Resident center focus, adaptability, respecting diversity, innovative thinking, application of evidence into practice and self-management.
- Ability to work with others to deliver outcomes.
- An awareness of own values and beliefs surrounding healthcare with an ability to identify and respect an alternative view.
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in both written and verbal forms.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An eye for detail, able to manage time efficiently and effectively and a practical 'can-do' approach to your work.
